Responsive design integrated with Umbraco CMS

CIRAS is the Confidential Incident Reporting & Analysis System for the UK rail industry, which allows rail workers to report safety issues which can then be addressed by rail companies, thus improving the overall safety of the network.

CIRAS wanted to improve their image within the industry, encourage the reporting of safety issues, and to increase their reach, spreading the proactive CIRAS safety message.

To help them do this, Cubeworks used responsive design meaning that the site is mobile and tablet friendly, therefore accessible to the widest audience possible. This suited CIRAS as it ensures that their site can be accessed from a variety of devices encouraging reports and improving their image. Additionally, a faceted search for their substantial report library (powered by Umbraco CMS) lets visitors quickly find relevant information.

The result has been a month by month increase in traffic to their site with just over 10% of that traffic being mobile-based. The site has increased the number of people reading CIRAS' online publications which increases awareness of rail safety issues.
