Cubeworks has launched a major new online initiative on behalf of the NSPCC. Wishes, is built around the Amazon E-commerce API and enables the NSPCC to raise funds from purchases that users make on Amazon. Each item bought earns the NSPCC a commission from Amazon of up to 10% of the purchase price.

The site enables the NSPCC to take advantage of the year-on-year increase in online sales at Christmas. Visitors can create and share their Christmas wish lists and recipients of the Wish Lists then have the opportunity to purchase a gift directly from Amazon and, in so doing, earn commission for the NSPCC.

Business users can also manage their office Secret Santa through the amazing Secret-Sant-a-Matic, with the suggested Amazon gifts earning further commission for the NSPCC.

Alex Cowell, MD of Cubeworks, said "A few charities are jumping on the virtual gifts bandwagon that Oxfam popularised with Oxfam Unwrapped, so we wanted to come up with a brand new idea for the NSPCC to fundraise at Christmas. We have devised some innovative methods for web users to organise their Christmas and benefit a charity at the same time. This is also a platform that the NSPCC can build on for future seasonal online activities."

NSPCC head of e-fundraising, Polly Gilchrist said: "The Wishes site is a charity first, combining lots of way to ease the stress at Christmas. One of the best things on the site is it allows users to create a Christmas gift list via Amazon.

"Friends and relatives simply go online, choose the presents they want to buy and they'll be delivered in time for Christmas. What makes it even better is 10 percent of the purchase price goes to the NSPCC."
