Community Mark
Helping the local community is very important to us and in Spring 2005 we committed to the principles of the national Community Mark scheme.
The Community Mark scheme commits us to integrating these principles into future business planning:
- Responsible business practice in relation to staff, customers, suppliers and the environment
- A named individual for taking the lead on our approach to community activity
- Making community involvement part of our values
- Integrating our commitment to community activity into our business objectives
- Using our community programme to complement the management and development of employees
- Keeping a check on the amount and type of resources put in and the benefits gained by our organisation and the community.
- Ensuring effective management, communication and development of our community programme.
Our community partners
We currently work with two community partners and have provided over £20,000 of in-kind services since Spring 2005:
- Energy Conservation and Sustainable Communities (ECSC)
ECSC run a project to audit energy-inefficient homes of the elderly and assist with obtaining grants for home improvements to make homes more energy efficient. Cubeworks developed a custom web-based database for them in Spring 2005 and we continue to provide hosting, development and support services.
Project Manager, ECSCWe are really happy with the bespoke nature of our new database as it fits exactly to our work programmes. Our project is funded through a grant so has a tight budget. Your generous gift of in-kind work is greatly appreciated and will ensure we have sufficient funds to divert to other areas of the project.
- Safety Net
Safety Net provides training to voluntary and community sector groups in child protection, runs a personal safety programme and also runs a bullying prevention scheme in schools. After they became an independent chariity they needed a new database to assist with their events management, reporting and marketing so they could reduce their overheads. So we obliged.
Training & Marketing Co-ordinator, Safety NetWe are a charity with very little funding for anything other than our direct work so we are very grateful for our new database. Previously it was very difficult to keep track of customers but this will have a big impact on how we work. You have been great with ideas and have really gone out of your way to be of help to us.
